And now for politics with Dom.
But first.

Look at this puppy.

And now. Politics.

Governor of Wisconsin:

Jim Doyle. Fuuuuuuck you. Mark Green thinks it would be a good idea to let me legally carry around weapons and I think so too. The people they're worried about having weapons already do it anyway. And if some asshole wants to point a gun at me I want to be able to do something about it without ending up with jail time or something else. Then again I suppose I already do it anyway too. Just not with firearms. The cops took my anti-highjacking stick when I had to call them to save somebodys life. Although if they would have died it would have been because of their own stupidity. I should find out where I put my homemade mace with the 8 inch spikes in it. Its pretty scary looking.

The Death Penalty:

Im not sure how much I care about this considering I dont ever plan on ending up on death row. I guess Ive known people who are more likely to than I am. But more fucked up things have happend. What if I ended up innocent and sentenced to death? Or someone Im close to? Which would be the worse fate? Being killed or spending the rest of your life in prison?
Then theres the whole thing about our tax dollars paying for criminals spending life in prison with no chance of ever being let out. Yes, they're paying for their crimes. But their life is pretty much over anyway and all they're doing is taking up space. Especially with the ones who stalk, beat, rape and kill little children, women walking alone at night or whoever their victim of choice might be. Where was it where the prison was so fucking full they had to build a new one? California?
I guess this is a tough one. Theres reasons to go both ways. Especially when you dont really trust the government. Who knows whats really going on in there.

Gay Marriage Ban:

This one is pretty simple. If they feel they need to get married to be happy then I say go for it. But as long as you're with the person you want to be with what does it matter how your relationship is seen by the law. I guess theres more to it than that. Insurence and blah blah blah. The idea of marriage and that kind of commitment is nice to. Some people say they dont want to get married or be owned by anyone else. But I think if you're going to get married it should be seen that way. It should be more of an equal partnership. And for the right reasons too. So many people rush into that crap and end up with a broken family. Or in a horrible pointless marriage. But now Im getting off topic.

Giving the school district an ass load of money for remodeling:

No. Fuck no. They dont need money for that. They're always complaining about money. They cut important school programs because they cant afford to run them, they desperatly need new school supplies and updated leanring materials.... Using the same books used in 1990 in 2006 just isnt working....theres a huge list of things they need money for and they want to remodel? Then theres the other issues of the loan refinancing and crap. My dad works for the school district. These people are fucking ridiculous sometimes. I guess the property taxes raise wouldnt come out of my pocket. But it would effect my parents.

What else is there? Attorney General? Dont get me started. The War/Impeachment thing. I dont really agree with a lot of it but I also think it would be a bad idea to just pull out and not finish what a lot of young people are dying for. If everything we're supposedly working for ends up completely undone then it would all be for nothing. Im just happy my friend Jeff is out of there now. Or will be pretty soon. He said he would be back in this country around the 9th. And an impeachment investigation on Bush/Cheney. For one I wouldnt trust the government to investigate itself. And do you know how long that would go on for? Its almost 2007. It wont be long before another presidential election is up. It seems somewhat pointless. But I guess I wouldnt mind them giving it a shot. Who knows what it could bring up.

Fuck Doyle and Green, you should run for office, man. I can see it now, the metalest politician ever, it might even get me to go register to vote. Hell, you could prolly win it too since you don't have the bullshit semi-fabricated past that these guys do.

1. that has to be the most retarded reason to not like jim doyle. if you want to be able to carry your guns in public, fly to iraq and see how well that's working for them there.

2. it costs more to sentence someone to death and actually execute them than it does to keep them in jail their whole life. this has been proven in many many places. read the cover article in this week's isthmus for more info.

3. If they feel they need to get married to be happy then I say go for it
that's the wrong way to think about it. essentially you're saying "if they feel they need to be treated like human beings and given the rights that everyone else has, then i say go for it." regardless, this amendment would ban not just gay marriage but civil unions, and seriously hinder the ability for gay couples to have rights over the other's property, health decisions, and more. this amendment is discriminatory and must fail. vote no.

4. nobody ever wants to give the schools money, and then everyone wonders what's happened to the art or sports or reputation of that school. news flash: schools need money!! most referendums that people vote down would only increase property taxes by about $10 a year. it'll be a sad day when our schools go the way of schools in mexico where free public education has been abolished.

5. it is absolutely necessary to investigate the bush regime and to contemplate impeachment. i strongly believe (and there is a lot of proof out there) that bush led us into war knowing that there were no WMDs in iraq. leading your troops into war under false pretenses will absolutely get you impeached.

Look..no offense Christina but we WILL carry our guns in public regardless of what Mr. Doyle thinks about it...
We aren't in Iraq but this is what's up here in lovely WI....A relative of MINE was raped by some sleazebag in an alley when she was a virgin...(he was later beaten to death as he should be)

I have been grabbed & my purse has been grabbed....I have the right to shoot....

Well Dom.....like my parents said..."Good for Dom...he has alot of sense unlike most of the people you've met in THAT TOWN" hahaha
The Isthmus is a liberal rag so the stories are obviously written from that point of view. You & I just discussed how we hate politics & we just want our GUNS.... I'm sure Jeff would agree

the ammendment wasn't to ban gay marriage, that's already banned here.It was to prevent civil unions and deny rights to unmarried couples, gay or straight.
obviously it wasn't promoted enough in the right way, those against it only defended the conservative attacks on gay marriage.
but its sad because a same sex couple could be together for 50 years and if one is dying in the hospital, the other can't be with them.
and it would be the same for an unmarried straight couple.
its pretty pathetic that this is the kind of place we live in.
